Out of pocket sucks!

Out of pocket sucks!

Recently I have been scouring the net looking for health insurance. I have a lot of health issues going on and later when we decide to start trying to have kids of our own, insurance is a must. I’ve checked out just about every plan from Aetna to even Blue Advantage with no luck. The bottom line that I’ve discovered is paying for insurance out of your pocket seriously sucks. I can not wait until the day where Jonathan has a full-time job with benefits. Once he has one that will take the biggest load off of our backs seriously.

Fat burning foods

Fat burning foods

Along with the new medicine from my doctor to aid in my weight loss, I’ve also been researching foods that burn fat. I was delighted to learn that apples, berries, citrus fruits, and garlic are all foods that help burn fat. I absolutely love all these foods, especially garlic. My research has helped me plan new meals ideas to help me take the most advantage of my appetite suppressant. I am wanting to have a balanced diet along with exercise. Hopefully with the love and support of my husband and family I can conquer this beast. Ya’ll be rooting for me!

Weight Loss

Weight Loss

For a while now, I have been researching various ways to lose weight. I am finally at a point in my life where I am ready to start losing the weight. Grayson has gave me the longing and desire to have a baby of my own so he can be a big brother. I look forward to a life with my husband and my children. Grayson is such a joy to be around and now I can hear my biological clock ticking rather loudly if I do say so myself. On my last visit to the doctor, she decided that I should try an appetite suppressants that has had major luck with most of her patients. Hopefully with this medicine I can kick this extra weight’s booty!

Phobias and such

Phobias and such

Gastrointestinal problems definitely run in my family as does colon cancer. These two factors caused me to make my mom an appointment with a Gastrointestinal doctor in hopes to persuade her to have a colonoscopy done. As we sat in the exam room looking over various pamphlets on hemorrhoid treatment, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and Colon Cancer, my mom decided to drop the bomb and tell me that the only reason she didn’t want a colonoscopy done is because she has a phobia with people touching her bottom. When the doctor came in, she proceeded to tell the doctor all about her phobia as well. For many years, I have always looked up to my mom and have never heard her once say she had a fear or phobia so when she decided to voice her phobia, it made me realize that my mom is only as human as I am. I obviously know she is a human but I have always idolized her and put her up on a pedestal so now I realize that she is just like me and I take comfort in that.

Alligator Skin

Alligator Skin

The hot, humid weather of the summertime has always wreaked havoc on my skin no matter how often I scrub my face and use moisturizers. This is one of the reasons I really want to move somewhere up north since I can deal with the cold weather a lot better than the weather we have had here that instantly takes your breath away from the heat once you walk outside. Seriously, a girl can in the south can buy the best night cream and use it religiously but still have alligator skin! It is ridiculous.

Deep down, I care!

Deep down, I care!

When I look at my twelve year old brother, he makes me thank God that I don’t have to go back through the crazy times of being in middle school. He will be in the seventh grade next year and right now his life revolves around sports and girls. Like all middle school boys, he has recently started to worry about his face. He has had a few pimples pop up and since he has two older sisters, we have been harassing him ever since to take better care of his face. We have even gone to the extent to purchase him his very own acne cleanser. I consider taking care of your face a very important thing to do and I don’t want him to have any reason for other kids to make fun of him. I know that in middle school kids can be brutal and him having a “pizza face” is only giving kids ammo to make fun of himself. We have also been teaching him about having self confidence and that there is nothing for him to be ashamed of when it comes to his personal appearance. I want my brother to have a lot better self esteem than I did at his age!!

Designer’s Eye

Designer’s Eye

I have noticed that lately I have frequently visited a lot of blogs that have to do with home improvements and interior design. Since I swapped rooms with my sisters, Jonathan and I have a lot of space so we’ve been planning on how to decorate our room. Needless to say, I have found a lot of inspiration. One thing that really surprised me that I am drawn to is leather! Yes, I love leather whether it be couches, a leather headboard, or even leather bar stools. I don’t know why but ever since my friend had a leather couch and I slept on it, I fell in love. I also went furniture shopping with the hubby and we have picked out a gorgeous bed with a leather headboard and I am so excited about the prospect of either purchasing it or we have been playing around with the idea of making our own fabric covered headboard which is another obsession of mine. Let me also mention how my new obsession has rubbed off on my mom who just replaced our old bar stools with leather bar stools. They are so comfortable, too. I hated sitting on our old bar stools because they were wooden and made my butt hurt but these make my butt happy.

My best friends have just rented a house and they are going to be moving next weekend. It’s really strange because my best friend has been dating Kela for going on three years and now Kela and I are best friends as well. In fact, Kela has been staying with us this past week since at their current place they don’t have cable or internet so there is nothing to do while Jon works full-time. In that amount of time we have been planning out some little things we can do to spruce up their house. I am happy to say the new house already has a set of leather bar stools at the kitchen island so there isn’t much to do in there. Their house has beautiful hardwood floors and she has a lot of decor items. Now it’s just filling her house with pictures of the two of them and other knickknacks to make it their own.

I cannot wait until Jonathan and I have our own house to decorate. I already have so many plans for it and not to mention color schemes picked out! I just want a place to call our own and for Grayson to have his own room as well. That baby has earned a bedroom of his own!
