Backs and Conflicting Results
Ever since my mom’s wreck in 2001, she has had a lot of back problems. Her back hurts constantly and she has to take numerous medicines to control the pain. In fact, she was put on a fentanyl patch to help control the pain. Recently, her doctor has been talking about back surgery which scares my mom. We’ve had friends of the family to have back surgery only to make their back worse, but on the other hand, we’ve also had friends who have had back surgery and felt 100% better. It is really a catch-22 because there are no guarantees. I want my mom to get better but I do not want her doing something that will make it worse. After a little research, I have discovered that there are a lot of leading surgeons in the country that have high success rates. Maybe surgery wouldn’t be that bad?

Eyelash Growth
One thing my mom is very jealous of is my full eyelashes. I rarely have to wear mascara and if I do, it is the clear kind. I have long, full lashes that are quite annoying at times but beautiful none the same. My mom has full eyelashes but they are not as long as mine. She has been looking for the best eyelash growth products on the market. She recently bought her some mascara to try that is supposed to make your lashes fuller and longer. Hopefully that will work. I think her lashes look fine but considering I am not a 100% girly-girl, I doubt my opinion matters.

She’s practically grown
You know your little sister is growing up when you go from the cool, older sister to the out-of-style, older sister. Everything I like, she hates. I’m sorry but I have good taste, age be darned. I like her to dress fashionable but cute, but she prefers fashionable and more revealing than what I’d like. I know she is in middle school and that is the time girls change and become their own person but can’t she just wait a few more years? And her attitude! Geez. Oh well, even though she can get on my last nerve, I am looking forward to the next couple of years. I know we won’t be shopping for a prom dress at tjformal.com anytime soon but I do have her 8th grade dance to look forward to in two years. I cannot wait to see her grow up and all the things her future holds for her. She is a bright and beautiful young woman, and the world better watch out because she has a lot to offer!

My little country boy
One thing I was really excited about finding Gray for Christmas was a pair of carhartt coveralls. It is no secret that my little guy is pure country through and through. He loves cars, trucks, four wheelers, and trains so it is no surprise that he loves wearing overalls and boots. In fact, he gets quite angry with me when I do not allow him to wear his boots around the house. I like them but they do not really fit and I much prefer him in jeans, a button up shirt, and his Converse. What can I say, I like to see my little guy rocking out in cute clothes instead of his country wear all the time like his daddy. I also fight with his daddy about his apparel at times. I have no clue why guys seem to like the most hideous clothes at time. I guess that is just a mystery I will never solve.

Just Scan It
It is no secret that losing weight is one of my current goals. With added technology, my goal is even more achievable than ever. By using a barcode scanner online provided via my cell phone, I can instantly scan what foods I am eating and add to my food diary instead of taking the time to write every single item down in a notebook. Paper trails are no more which I am happy about. I’m sorry but I used to spend more time writing down my food diary than actually eating. That, my friends, is no fun. Technology is going to make my goal to lose weight a lot easier which I am totally thankful for.

Waiting on Santa
Well, my aunt’s house went as planned with the men talking about micrometers, car parts, and football while the women chatted about family and mainly babies while dinner was set out. Dinner was so delicious. Watching my cousin hold and coo over her baby really made me miss Grayson. We do not get him until tomorrow morning so any family event does not feel complete without him. So since dinner is done and we are back at my mom’s, I can look forward to a full night of wrapping presents from Grayson and my two siblings. I swear, I do not understand why my mom can’t just put everything out without wrapping it all. I mean I can understand wrapping a few things but for my mom, everything needs to be wrapped. I am sure in the next hour or two my wrapping skills will dramatically drop. If so, do not say I didn’t call it first!
Despite the wrapping overload, I am looking forward to spending one-on-one time with my sister!

Schweet!
Ever since I started the teaching program and have had to complete my practicum anywhere in the surrounding county as well as my own, my husband has been very worried about me driving that far in the early morning and the afternoon traffic. Plus, he worries when I drive around with Grayson, especially with my old car. Now that I got my newer car I have not had to really worry as much but he still is a worry wart at heart. Because of this, he has been looking into a roadside assistance plan offered by our car insurance company. Hey, I think that’s a very schweet deal for me since I can always use the added reassurance that if something goes wrong I will be taken care of and not having to fork out a lot of money to have my cousin come check out my car means more money in my pocket! All around I think a roadside assistance plan is something that would be a great investment since I surely do not want to be stuck on the side of some country road in the middle of nowhere!!
