A+ Wife Award

A+ Wife Award

I have spent the past week researching guitars to no end. I mean I know more about guitars than I ever wanted to. I know my husband has wanted one for a while after his got destroyed in the move, but I just couldn’t decide which one to get him because I was paranoid I’d pick one out and it wouldn’t be to his liking.

So after the endless amount of research, I told my husband my plan to get him a guitar. I really wanted it to be a secret surprise but since it would be a big gift, I figured he could help pick it out. I told him the budget and asked him to help me find him the perfect one. He was so excited to look online and at a local guitar store. In the end, he found the perfect guitar made by Applause. It is actually very pretty, in my opinion. I just love the look of acoustic guitars. In a couple of days, his guitar will be here. I am so excited for him and I cannot wait to listen to him play.

So I guess you all know who got the A+ Wife Award!

Happy 2 years!

Happy 2 years!

Today is mine and my husband’s two year wedding anniversary. I honestly cannot believe we have been married for two years already! In some ways, it feels much longer, lol. We definitely have had some trying times here lately, but I am thankful that I have a husband that I can not only depend on, but someone I can also vent all my issues to without worrying how they will view me. He honestly is my best friend and for that I will always be grateful. I love you, Jonathan!

Redecorating

Redecorating

Since my husband has been working at his new job, we’ve decided to start planning to purchase some new pieces of furniture for our house. We have a very eclectic mix of furniture in our home, but it ironically flows pretty well together. I actually love my living room set and our bedroom set was my mom’s. It is an expensive set and when she bought her a new one, we took her old one. Grayson’s room is pretty set right now until we can buy him a new bed with a trundle. For now though, it serves its purpose.

The real downfall is our dining room. We had a very old table but it was replaced with the round table the old renters left behind. Since I have a big family and we occasionally have dinner at our house, I want a table big enough for everyone to sit at. I have my eye on a certain table. It has the design of rustic dining room tables but it has a modern flair since it is a painted table but also has the rustic charm since it is distressed. It will seat 8-10 people which I like and it is pretty affordable! Once we save the money we are going to get it. I can’t wait! I love decorating. :)

Take that fat!

Take that fat!

For the past few months, I have been steadily watching what I eat. I have been into the clean eating and portion control here lately, and I really think it is paying off. I can fit in clothes that I have not been able to fit in for a long time. I also have a lot more energy than I originally had. It makes me feel good that other people can notice my weight loss efforts, too. I had a teacher tell me that I looked smaller which really made me happy.

Before starting my healthy eating kick, I did a little research to see what plan might be best for me. I went over endless diet plans and even looked into some appetite suppressants. After reading Apidextra reviews and Phentermine reviews, I decided that I wanted to go the natural way. I have nothing against diet pills but I was afraid that if I did not lose everything on my own that it would take away from my accomplishments. If I have something to fall back on, like a pill, who is to say that once I lose I won’t go back to the same mindset since I know I can lose again with a pill?

I will try to post some pictures later but I really want to get further into my journey before I really go tooting the old horn!

Scrubs and more scrubs

Scrubs and more scrubs

My sister recently found a job at an assisted living home. Since then, she decided to volunteer tell me that I was going to go pick out new scrubs with her. My sister is short and likes things to fit a certain way which is why I have to go with her to make sure her scrubs look good from all angles. Ya know, what else are sisters for? We went to a local scrub store in Calhoun since the scrub store in our town closed down recently.

Luckily, my sister was able to find three pairs of scrub pants and five scrub tops. Her pants can easily go with multiple tops so she looks like she has a big wardrobe while really only having a few key pieces. I told my sister this should be fine until she worked there a few weeks and then she could afford to buy more tops and pants. I am quite jealous because scrubs are so comfortable and some of the tops don’t even look like actual scrub tops. They are actually very cute!

I am so proud of my sister. She has been diligently looking to get out of the grocery business and she finally has. She is on her way up in the world!

Hubby’s new job

Hubby’s new job

My husband finally found a job after searching for what seems like forever. He now works at the local country club in the kitchen. He loves his job, including the people he works with. The head chef is an amazing guy who has offered my husband the chance to go to school for culinary arts and then make more money working under him. He understands our situation, as in we need money because I’m a full-time student who cannot find a job due to lack of time and when I am not in school I take care of Gray!

So to reward the hubby, I have been looking at a new acoustic guitar for him. He loves to play and I think this would help him unwind after work in the evenings.

I mean look at that beauty! I know my husband will love the guitar since that is what he has been talking about for a long time. He already knows how to play but during our move, his guitar kind of had an accident. He has been really upset about that but thanks to the Guitar Starter Packages, I can afford to buy him one. I am so excited, you have no idea. I have really been looking for something to show him how much I appreciate how he has really been stepping it up lately and how he has always been my rock during these hard times with school. Now, I finally can since I found the perfect gift.
