Two years ago, my husband bought me a pair of Justin boots which I love. They are brown and pink and quite hot if you ask me, but I really want a new pair. I have been looking at a pair of brown and camo ones which are the ones I wanted originally but Tractor Supply did not have in stock. If not those, I guess I will look into getting a pair of Ariat Fat Babies. I love boots and how they look with a pair of jeans. Plus, I do live in the South and happen to be a country girl at heart so that fits my style. Although, I do not wear the cheaply made fashion boots. The boots I am looking at are categorized as equestrian boots but they are stylish, too. I can use them to ride horses or just wear everyday.

Thanks to the ability to sending flowers online, my mom’s Mother’s Day gift is already planned and paid for in advance which means less stress for me. I am really one of those plan ahead type people and when I have the money to do what I want, I’d rather get it done then than wait around the my money to dwindle away. That is also why later this month when my financial aid money comes in I will be buying my sister’s and Grayson’s birthday gifts. I want to get those out of the way and done so I do not have to worry about them anymore. I plan on getting my sister a waffle maker so she will finally be quiet about it since she has asked for one two Christmases in a row. Now she can eat her waffles, lol. I have no clue on the Gray front. Do you like to plan in advance or are you a last minute type of person?

Wow, I cannot believe 2011 is already over. 2011 held a lot of good moments but it also was one of the most stressful years of my life since I started my education program at West Georgia. I cannot tell you how stressed that program made me. I am so glad to finally be done with it and to be enjoying my break. I have thoroughly enjoyed the holidays with my family. I loved watching my two year old opening all of his presents and the delight in his face as he played with his new toys and his aunts and uncles. This year has taught me that the most important thing in life is family and come hell or high water, I will do anything to ensure the safety of my family. Hope everyone is having a great New Year!

One thing I love about social media is being able to find coupons and promotion codes easier. There are tons of coupon codes spread out through various companies’ websites, Facebook pages, and twitter. For instance, I found a pretty sweet Twitter deals Personal Creations. I also found a coupon code for my textbook rental website where I can save 10% and get free shipping. That is a deal I cannot pass up. Thanks for a coupon code website, I got my husband’s part for his jeep at a discount which means more money in our pocket. I don’t coupon just to save a little money, I coupon because the little savings I do receive are added to my gas fund and my Katie needs a vacation fund.

Ever since my mom’s wreck in 2001, she has had a lot of back problems. Her back hurts constantly and she has to take numerous medicines to control the pain. In fact, she was put on a fentanyl patch to help control the pain. Recently, her doctor has been talking about back surgery which scares my mom. We’ve had friends of the family to have back surgery only to make their back worse, but on the other hand, we’ve also had friends who have had back surgery and felt 100% better. It is really a catch-22 because there are no guarantees. I want my mom to get better but I do not want her doing something that will make it worse. After a little research, I have discovered that there are a lot of leading surgeons in the country that have high success rates. Maybe surgery wouldn’t be that bad?

Well, my aunt’s house went as planned with the men talking about micrometers, car parts, and football while the women chatted about family and mainly babies while dinner was set out. Dinner was so delicious. Watching my cousin hold and coo over her baby really made me miss Grayson. We do not get him until tomorrow morning so any family event does not feel complete without him. So since dinner is done and we are back at my mom’s, I can look forward to a full night of wrapping presents from Grayson and my two siblings. I swear, I do not understand why my mom can’t just put everything out without wrapping it all. I mean I can understand wrapping a few things but for my mom, everything needs to be wrapped. I am sure in the next hour or two my wrapping skills will dramatically drop. If so, do not say I didn’t call it first! Despite the wrapping overload, I am looking forward to spending one-on-one time with my sister!

Ever since I started the teaching program and have had to complete my practicum anywhere in the surrounding county as well as my own, my husband has been very worried about me driving that far in the early morning and the afternoon traffic. Plus, he worries when I drive around with Grayson, especially with my old car. Now that I got my newer car I have not had to really worry as much but he still is a worry wart at heart. Because of this, he has been looking into a roadside assistance plan offered by our car insurance company. Hey, I think that’s a very schweet deal for me since I can always use the added reassurance that if something goes wrong I will be taken care of and not having to fork out a lot of money to have my cousin come check out my car means more money in my pocket! All around I think a roadside assistance plan is something that would be a great investment since I surely do not want to be stuck on the side of some country road in the middle of nowhere!!

Now it is even easier to get the things you want with the internet. I remember my grandma telling me stories about how after the war my grandfather had saved in order to buy each of his daughters gold bars to put away for their future. During the time, buying of gold bars was a great idea to save for one’s future. Now, you can buy gold online and have it delivered to you without stepping outside of your house. How awesome is that? I mean I don’t plan on buying gold anytime soon since all the money we get goes to bills, diapers, and gas, but still I am sure there are people out there that would benefit from this service.

Tonight we will be going to my aunt’s for our annual Christmas dinner. Even though my family consists of a lot of cooky people, I always look forward to spending time with them. In fact, I wish I had more time to spend with each and every one of my family members, even those that manage to annoy me within a five minute conversation. Every year, the dinner is the same. The men will stay in the living room or outside on the porch talking about cars, amt pumps, and God knows what else why the women stay inside and chat about family life while setting everything out and getting the last minute dishes prepared. Then we will all eat and after dinner conversation will be a mix of everyone trying to talk at once about anything and everything while getting a little tired from the turkey. What is Christmas like at your house?

One of the things we have been wanting to do is add a bigger bed to Gray’s room. He currently has two twin beds in his room but we’d like to swap those out for a full-sized bed. With a full, company can sleep in his bed with him and it would give his play space more room. Considering the only people who spend the night are my younger siblings, the bed issue won’t be a problem. Unfortunately, the bed frame we had broke somehow. Thankfully, my step-dad has all of his welding equipment at home so he was able to quickly fix the bed for us. Now let’s hope hubby can stain the wooden parts of the bed and it look okay in time for Christmas. If we do not have his room ready to rearrange by Christmas, we will complete it shortly after. All I know is Gray will be needing a lot more space once he opens gifts!
