Everyone has a member of their family that gets on their nerves no matter how hard you try to tolerate them. I have a cousin like this. By the end of the conversation with this person, my cheek literally hurts from biting the inside of it so I don’t seriously say something downright rude to them. It takes all of my self control not to yell at this person,
“Are you freaking kidding me!?!”

For example, my sister was posting about learning how to coupon because we really want to start saving money. This cousin makes a comment about how you cut coupons out of the paper and then voila. Seriously? What do you think I am, an idiot? This is also the same cousin that goes into random tangents mid conversation about machinery and other mindless stuff like hydraulic hoses. I just don’t understand him. Who does that?

Thank God my classes are finally over. This has been a very trying semester and I honestly feel that I have not learned very much this semester. To me, this semester was filled with needless classes and huge projects that did not reflect anything that was taught. And for the classes that had daily work, it was unnecessary and a way for the instructor to give us busy work. I honestly believe that our classes should be straight practicum because our methods classes are not teaching us anything.

For instance, our math methods class was more like an English class. Our teacher graded our grammar more than anything and she was very rude. The teacher talked down to us and did not remain unbiased in any tiffs between classmates. If two classmates get into an argument, an instructor is supposed to remain impartial because let’s face it, we are all adults. Why get into it? It’s not your place. Our other methods class I hated was science. I believe the instructor graded very unfairly based upon who she was grading. Four classmates submitted the same lesson plan because they all taught the same lesson and all four got different grades for different errors. Seriously? How is that possible? Also, the instructor went on random rants about things like Flat Stanley and about lab equipment like lab furnaces. It was a total waste of time.

Here is to hoping next semester is much better!

Since my husband started his new job, all he can talk about is the day when we can afford our own house. I mean he goes on and on about this. He loves the idea of us owning our own house. He has signed up with ton of sites with information for first time home buyers and how to get a cheaper loan. After filtering his e-mail to sort all of the random advertisements, spam, and e-mails from websites offering real estate Louisville KY which is not applicable to us, I finally found an e-mail from a local real estate company that has a house for sale right in our neighborhood. In fact, it is a street over and a three bedroom house. We have an appointment to see it this coming week so keep your fingers crossed for us.

I know I blogged a couple of days ago about my sister and her new job, but it looks like my sister is in the market for yet another job. The job she was originally hired for, a CNA position, has now turned into a housekeeping job. My sister is so frustrated because she went through a lot to get this job. She had to get a physical, a TB test, several employment background checks, a drug test, and took three personality/employment tests just to even get an interview. So now after that, they demote her to housekeeping. I feel so bad for her because she is so upset. My sister is a very hard worker and I know she gives 110% to any job she has but yet this company would rather demote her instead of valuing her. The really bad thing is she is a licensed CNA while most of the other caregivers at the assisted living home are not even certified. So they picked people non-certified over her. She is really taking this hard.

I guess this week I will spend my days looking for her a new job. Anything I can do for her, I will do because my sister is always there for me!

For those Panama City Beach enthusiasts, I am quite certain everyone has heard of Bike Week. Bike Week happens to be this week in Panama City Beach and guess whose step-dad happens to be down there? Jealous? I know I am. I would love to be down there. I love motorcycles even though I would never ride one since I have the balance ability of a two year old.

He has been sending us pictures of all the events down there. I wish I was there so bad. I love the atmosphere of PCB and after all the bar hopping I did in Jersey for my cousin’s funeral, I am really into the laid back atmosphere of locally owned bars which is the epitome of the atmosphere for Bike Week. My step-dad also informed my husband about the display Shoei helmets had at the rally. My husband has wanted a new helmet to ride his dirt bike for a while now and has his eyes on a motocross helmet by Shoei.

Let’s hope we all get some souvenirs.

I know my site was down some the past few weeks. There was an issue with my host getting paid and what not. Since I love my current host, I could never imagine swapping hosts so I stuck with it. I knew she would have everything figured out and back up and running for me. After all, once you find a great host you don’t want to just up and move because let’s face it, it’s a giant hassle.

While I did have downtime, I did do some price comparisons just to see how much I want to pay when I decide to downgrade my account with my current host since I do not host as many people under me anymore. I was very amused by how much a company would pay for a Joomla host. Thank God I have an amazing host with very reasonable prices because some hosts are outrageous. I have definitely noticed the trend of overpaying at a lot of sites!!

I have spent the past week researching guitars to no end. I mean I know more about guitars than I ever wanted to. I know my husband has wanted one for a while after his got destroyed in the move, but I just couldn’t decide which one to get him because I was paranoid I’d pick one out and it wouldn’t be to his liking.

So after the endless amount of research, I told my husband my plan to get him a guitar. I really wanted it to be a secret surprise but since it would be a big gift, I figured he could help pick it out. I told him the budget and asked him to help me find him the perfect one. He was so excited to look online and at a local guitar store. In the end, he found the perfect guitar made by Applause. It is actually very pretty, in my opinion. I just love the look of acoustic guitars. In a couple of days, his guitar will be here. I am so excited for him and I cannot wait to listen to him play.

So I guess you all know who got the A+ Wife Award!

In some ways, it feels much longer, lol. We definitely have had some trying times here lately, but I am thankful that I have a husband that I can not only depend on, but someone I can also vent all my issues to without worrying how they will view me. He honestly is my best friend and for that I will always be grateful. I love you, Jonathan!

Since my husband has been working at his new job, we’ve decided to start planning to purchase some new pieces of furniture for our house. We have a very eclectic mix of furniture in our home, but it ironically flows pretty well together. I actually love my living room set and our bedroom set was my mom’s. It is an expensive set and when she bought her a new one, we took her old one. Grayson’s room is pretty set right now until we can buy him a new bed with a trundle. For now though, it serves its purpose.

The real downfall is our dining room. We had a very old table but it was replaced with the round table the old renters left behind. Since I have a big family and we occasionally have dinner at our house, I want a table big enough for everyone to sit at. I have my eye on a certain table. It has the design of rustic dining room tables but it has a modern flair since it is a painted table but also has the rustic charm since it is distressed. It will seat 8-10 people which I like and it is pretty affordable! Once we save the money we are going to get it. I can’t wait! I love decorating.

For the past few months, I have been steadily watching what I eat. I have been into the clean eating and portion control here lately, and I really think it is paying off. I can fit in clothes that I have not been able to fit in for a long time. I also have a lot more energy than I originally had. It makes me feel good that other people can notice my weight loss efforts, too. I had a teacher tell me that I looked smaller which really made me happy.

Before starting my healthy eating kick, I did a little research to see what plan might be best for me. I went over endless diet plans and even looked into some appetite suppressants. After reading Apidextra reviews and Phentermine reviews, I decided that I wanted to go the natural way. I have nothing against diet pills but I was afraid that if I did not lose everything on my own that it would take away from my accomplishments. If I have something to fall back on, like a pill, who is to say that once I lose I won’t go back to the same mindset since I know I can lose again with a pill?

I will try to post some pictures later but I really want to get further into my journey before I really go tooting the old horn!
