My little room

My little room

In our house, the office is my domain. When we first moved in we just put my desk where ever we could for the time being. This past weekend I was able to move my desk around the way I wanted it to with the help of my husband. I also was able to position the wingback chair and ottoman where I wanted as well. Now I have a better understanding of what I need to get to complete the room such as a small bookshelf. I also have a very fun project in mind with reupholstering the chair and ottoman. I have been looking at a lot of different contemporary upholstery fabric and found one I like. It is a white fabric with teal, green, and light yellow pom pom flowering-like things on it. I love how relaxing the fabric looks and know it will make a great addition to my office. I also plan on adding white panels to the windows to make the office a little brighter. Three walls of my office are this oak wood paneling. I am talking about real wood, too. Not the fake laminate stuff that was so popular in the 80′s. This stuff is the real deal and gives my office an outdoorsy appeal which I think adding in some light and airy accessories will really lighten the place up! I am so excited to make this space my own.

I Can Haz New Boots?

I Can Haz New Boots?

Two years ago, my husband bought me a pair of Justin boots which I love. They are brown and pink and quite hot if you ask me, but I really want a new pair. I have been looking at a pair of brown and camo ones which are the ones I wanted originally but Tractor Supply did not have in stock. If not those, I guess I will look into getting a pair of Ariat Fat Babies. I love boots and how they look with a pair of jeans. Plus, I do live in the South and happen to be a country girl at heart so that fits my style. Although, I do not wear the cheaply made fashion boots. The boots I am looking at are categorized as equestrian boots but they are stylish, too. I can use them to ride horses or just wear everyday.

Mother’s Day is done!

Mother’s Day is done!

Thanks to the ability to sending flowers online, my mom’s Mother’s Day gift is already planned and paid for in advance which means less stress for me. I am really one of those plan ahead type people and when I have the money to do what I want, I’d rather get it done then than wait around the my money to dwindle away. That is also why later this month when my financial aid money comes in I will be buying my sister’s and Grayson’s birthday gifts. I want to get those out of the way and done so I do not have to worry about them anymore. I plan on getting my sister a waffle maker so she will finally be quiet about it since she has asked for one two Christmases in a row. Now she can eat her waffles, lol. I have no clue on the Gray front. Do you like to plan in advance or are you a last minute type of person?

Dumb Pool!

Dumb Pool!

I am so annoyed right now because our pool pump has to be replaced now. Since our pool cover split in half, the top layer of water in our pool and the water in the pipes, due to someone not closing the pipes off, froze. Because of this, one of the main pipes in our pool pump shattered. Ugh. My step-dad is going to try to repair the piece since he is the mastermind of repairing things, but if that does not work I guess I can add pentair pool pumps to my research list in order to find a pump that will work for us economically. I swear, when it rains, it pours! What a way to start the new year.

New Year

New Year

Wow, I cannot believe 2011 is already over. 2011 held a lot of good moments but it also was one of the most stressful years of my life since I started my education program at West Georgia. I cannot tell you how stressed that program made me. I am so glad to finally be done with it and to be enjoying my break. I have thoroughly enjoyed the holidays with my family. I loved watching my two year old opening all of his presents and the delight in his face as he played with his new toys and his aunts and uncles. This year has taught me that the most important thing in life is family and come hell or high water, I will do anything to ensure the safety of my family. Hope everyone is having a great New Year!
