Cover Mishaps
After all the rain we have had recently and now the cold-front that has moved in, the cords holding our pool cover on our pool snapped because of the weight of the ice on top of our cover. I am really irritated because I bought that cover myself and invested in an expensive cover as opposed to one of the cheaper ones. I guess next year I will just invest in an automatic pool cover which will roll itself over the top of the pool instead of us stretching the cover across and then securing it with the cord and cranks. That would be so much easier because we have a deck surrounding all sides of our pool which means we have to crawl under there twice a year to take the cover off and then put the cover back on. I’m a bigger girl and little confined spaces are not my best friend. Hopefully the automatic cover will not be hard to install and will result in me not having to crawl under the deck ever again.

Advertiser’s best friend
One thing I love about social media is being able to find coupons and promotion codes easier. There are tons of coupon codes spread out through various companies’ websites, Facebook pages, and twitter. For instance, I found a pretty sweet Twitter deals Personal Creations. I also found a coupon code for my textbook rental website where I can save 10% and get free shipping. That is a deal I cannot pass up. Thanks for a coupon code website, I got my husband’s part for his jeep at a discount which means more money in our pocket. I don’t coupon just to save a little money, I coupon because the little savings I do receive are added to my gas fund and my Katie needs a vacation fund.

Backs and Conflicting Results
Ever since my mom’s wreck in 2001, she has had a lot of back problems. Her back hurts constantly and she has to take numerous medicines to control the pain. In fact, she was put on a fentanyl patch to help control the pain. Recently, her doctor has been talking about back surgery which scares my mom. We’ve had friends of the family to have back surgery only to make their back worse, but on the other hand, we’ve also had friends who have had back surgery and felt 100% better. It is really a catch-22 because there are no guarantees. I want my mom to get better but I do not want her doing something that will make it worse. After a little research, I have discovered that there are a lot of leading surgeons in the country that have high success rates. Maybe surgery wouldn’t be that bad?

Eyelash Growth
One thing my mom is very jealous of is my full eyelashes. I rarely have to wear mascara and if I do, it is the clear kind. I have long, full lashes that are quite annoying at times but beautiful none the same. My mom has full eyelashes but they are not as long as mine. She has been looking for the best eyelash growth products on the market. She recently bought her some mascara to try that is supposed to make your lashes fuller and longer. Hopefully that will work. I think her lashes look fine but considering I am not a 100% girly-girl, I doubt my opinion matters.

She’s practically grown
You know your little sister is growing up when you go from the cool, older sister to the out-of-style, older sister. Everything I like, she hates. I’m sorry but I have good taste, age be darned. I like her to dress fashionable but cute, but she prefers fashionable and more revealing than what I’d like. I know she is in middle school and that is the time girls change and become their own person but can’t she just wait a few more years? And her attitude! Geez. Oh well, even though she can get on my last nerve, I am looking forward to the next couple of years. I know we won’t be shopping for a prom dress at tjformal.com anytime soon but I do have her 8th grade dance to look forward to in two years. I cannot wait to see her grow up and all the things her future holds for her. She is a bright and beautiful young woman, and the world better watch out because she has a lot to offer!
