Christmas List

Christmas List

This year it is no secret that the hubby and I do not have a lot of money to purchase the gifts we wish we could. We just moved out on our own and our first priority is paying the bills and then providing Grayson with Christmas presents. Even though I’d love to fill the bottom of our tree with loads of new electronics and such but that just is not feasible for us at the moment. We have decided that in January we will be buying a late Christmas present for the both of us which is a big flat screen since we have wanted one for a while and then we will be happy. I also might get a new couch since our current one is kind of small and hard. There are a lot of other things we want to buy but since we are on the no credit promise we made to each other, we plan on keeping our lists short and sweet! What are some things you plan on gifting to yourself?

The Pinnacle of Society

The Pinnacle of Society

In one of my classes we have been discussing consumerism and have deemed it to be the pinnacle of society. Everywhere you turn there is advertisements of some kind to promote consumerism whether its a billboard to free promotional koozies handed out at the ballpark. We promote the need to spend beyond your means and if you do not believe that take a note on how many credit card commercials there are on the television or in your favorite magazine. We also discussed in our class that if people swapped back to the old do not spend what you do not have mindset that this country would be in a lot better situation. I talked to the hubby about everything we discussed in our class and we have decided to pay off our credit cards and cut them up. The only card we will be keeping is our debit card since that comes out of my bank account directly. Maybe some other people should take the initiative that we are because the only thing that can change if your credit rating from doing this which is something we have been working to change lately anyways.

Judgmental People

Judgmental People

I never realized how judgmental people can be, including myself. If I am walking down the road and I see a bald person, I think wow that sucks instead of thinking of the reasons for hair loss. Maybe that person has a problem that is out of their hand and have endured endless amounts of criticism from others just because they are bald. My thoughts are just adding to that criticism the person has endured. The same thing goes for overweight people. No one ever considers what we go through. They just assume we all sit on our butt all the time curling bonbons and lifting twinkies but that is not the case. I am an active person and I eat mostly healthy. I am not going to lie, if I want a piece of cheesecake every now and again, I indulge myself. I do not punish myself for being overweight because that will just lead me back to being ashamed of who I am. I accept my flaws, including my ginormous weight, and if others cannot do the same, so be it. I just think people need to stop being so judgmental and instead of thinking you know everything about a person, how about finding out the facts first?

I guess I have been a little harsh on the subject of the best diet pills for women. I never thought about diet pills as being a way to jump start a weight loss journey instead of it being the whole journey. I suppose if you are using diet pills to aid in your journey then that is not as bad as using the pills and not making other changes in your lifestyle. So with that said, on a case by case basis I suppose diet pills are not the total enemy as I once thought!

Christmas Cards

Christmas Cards

This weekend, my mom and I went shopping to look for some festive things for my place. My mom already bought us a wreath to go on our door but now we have been looking for a Christmas tree. I want Grayson to have a tree at our house that he can help us decorate. I really want to ensure he has the full Christmas experience at our house since this will be our first Christmas with him. I already purchased some Christmas Cards which I am putting his photo in to send out to our family. I am kind of excited to send out my cards with my married name on them! I know that sounds lame but its the small things I am excited about. I am just happy to spend the holidays with my family and have Grayson with us as well. That little kid is such a big part of our life and who knew that we would get to spend so much time with him!
