The Bob

The Bob

Since Grayson is considered a big boy, we have been packing up some of his “baby stuff” so we can save it for any future kids we might have. One thing I hated to pack up was Grayson’s stroller because we barely got any use out of it but he is too big for it. His nanny, my mom, has been looking up new strollers since we take him on walks during the afternoon and that would be too far of a walk for him to make on foot. The one she has shown me, which is the front runner of her list, is the bob revolution. I really like the three-wheel feature on the stroller and how it would be roomy for Grayson. It also features a canopy which would keep my baby well-shaded. Also, the bob revolution can be used on any type of terrain which would be great for our trip to Stone Mountain we plan on making. So hopefully in the next week or two, we will be the proud owners of a bob revolution.

Back to school

Back to school

School started back on the 16th and since then, I’ve been a busy bee. With school comes the designated back to school shopping where I picked up all the essentials as well as a pretty sweet flash drive that was on sale at Staples. If only I had ran into as much good luck at our school store as I did at Staples then I would be in the green. No, ladies and gents, I picked up the wrong book for my history class. I felt like the biggest idiot when I saw everyone else’s book compared to mine. Oh well, you live and you learn. At least the bookstore let me swap my book out for the correct one and even took back a book for this class that was canceled. Usually, they won’t take a book back if the seal is broke even if the class is canceled or not but thanks to my lucky stars, I still had the seal!

He can walk!

He can walk!

It’s official, my little man is officially walking. Life as we know it is about to drastically change because the days of sitting him in the floor and having him entertained in one area is completely over. Now he wants to get up and walk around which means he is getting into anything and everything. The hubby has already had to rubber band our two cabinet doors so he can’t open them up. He loves to open our cabinet doors and look in the cabinet and then close the door. He repeats this act over and over until he drives you crazy, lol. I cannot express the joy I had when I saw him walk from the living room and all the way up the hall and back down to our room. He only made one stop to get his balance while holding onto the door knob. My baby is growing up so fast!

What to buy, what to buy

What to buy, what to buy

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of FriendGiftr. All opinions are 100% mine.

What do you buy for the person who has everything? I have no idea, I tell ya! My cousin, Erica, is pregnant with her second child. At our church, the youth held her a baby shower and I was absolutely clueless as to what to buy her. Erica already has a little girl, Ava, and saved all of Ava’s old clothes and toys since they knew they would be planning on having a second child. So, Erica basically has all the essentials already. This seriously left me clueless because there are only so many outfits one kid can use, ya know? All of our family had already planned on buying little Klara outfits as well as gift certificates for diapers.

This is the time that I wish I knew about FriendGiftr which is an online site where you can buy gift cards for all occasions. If I would have known about the site ahead of time, I would have bought Erica a gift card to Pottery Barn Kids since she has been talking about buying a new crib for Klara and already had one picked out there. If Erica decided she did not want the gift card from Pottery Barn Kids, FriendGiftr allows the receivers of the cards to swap out their card for a different merchant’s card at no additional cost. I mean come on, how cool is that? Also for those gift emergencies on the go, FriendGiftr services are available through their website, Facebook, iPhone, BlackBerry, and Android! They are literally accessible everywhere! Obviously, FriendGiftr has now been bookmarked and will be kept in mine for this upcoming holiday season! Gift cards are the gifts that keep on giving!

$350 poorer

$350 poorer

So today my sister and I went to get our books for this upcoming semester. Seriously, I was appalled at how much a textbook costs these days. Seriously, it has gotten way out of hand. I do not see the need to pay over $150 for a math textbook. What are they teaching us, rocket science? So after I bought a math textbook, CPR and first aid training books, and my history book, my total came to almost $350! My sister only bought two books and a bag which was also totaled at around $300. How can they expect us to pay so much for textbooks when we are going to school to get a better job so we can have more money? I am jobless and if it was not for my financial aid, I would not even be able to afford to pay for my books. I swear, college is expensive!
