What happened to WoW?

I was so excited to log on to World of Warcraft and play for a while. I haven’t played the game in forever and finally, I had some free time. So imagine my frustration when I went to log on and the game wouldn’t even work! It says I need to download a patch and then it says the patch failed to update. My only options are to contact technical support or reinstall. I am so annoyed. I want to play sooo bad!!!
